Thomas Achhorner
Partner & Managing Director
Thomas is a Partner in our Zurich office. He leads BCG's Information Technology Practice and also heads the firm's worldwide competence center for core banking modernization. He has previously worked in our Sydney, Hong Kong and Beijing offices and has accumulated over twenty years of Financial Services and IT experience.
Highlights of Thomas' experience include justifying, planning and executing large scale IT platform replacement programs, setting up global operating centres, modernising IT functions, advising CIOs and developing strategies for IT service providers. Thomas is a regular speaker at industry conferences and has published several articles on the challenges of IT transformation in China.
Prior to joining BCG, Thomas worked at IBM Switzerland's banking group as systems engineer, architect and project manager.
Thomas holds a Masters degree in Science, Information Technology and Business Administration, from the Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH).
