Thomas Luippold
Senior Partner & Managing Director
Thomas is a Senior Partner in our Zurich office. He has led the Swiss Financial Services practice for many years and heads our relationship with several leading financial service companies in Switzerland and Europe. Thomas has a very broad and deep expertise in the insurance and banking industry. He is also the author of different reports and studies, e.g., "Creating Competitive Advantage -The European Insurance Landscape". Thomas' project experience covers a broad range of topics, including strategy, corporate development, value management, growth and sales effectiveness, organizational and operational excellence, process and cost optimization as well as restructuring and transformation.
Prior to joining BCG, Thomas worked for UBS in the area of Structured and Leveraged Finance in Zurich and New York. He holds a bank education from Deutsche Bank.
Thomas studied Business Administration at the Universities of Munich and St. Gallen and holds a PhD in Finance from St. Gallen University (HSG). In addition, Thomas teaches Strategic Management as a professor at the Universities of Trier (D) and Vienna (A).
