Pia Tischhauser
Partner & Managing Director
Pia is a Partner in our Zurich office. She is a core member of BCG's global Insurance practice group and leads our local Insurance practice group activities. She has been working globally for leading insurance and financial services clients for more than a decade and has a second base in our London office, where she supports our UK insurance and FS clients.
Pia has for extensive periods of time worked for US insurance clients out of our Chicago office and has worked as an insurance expert for insurers, reinsurers, brokers, and government institutions in Russia, MENA, Eastern Europe, and various large European insurance markets. Pia has served several global financial services clients on a wide range of strategy topics. Her experience includes market sizing and baselining, cost reduction projects, risk and performance management, M&A portfolio reviews, and PMI/divestiture projects for insurance and industrial investors. Furthermore, she has led project teams on specific topics such as pricing excellence, claims reviews, customer segmentation, investment and run-off strategies, client retention, and loyalty improvement programs.
Prior to joining BCG, Pia worked as a Financial Analyst in investment banking and as a Research Assistant. Pia holds a master's degree in economics from the University of Berne and was a graduate scholar at J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, US.
